Erase Imperfections, Reveal Shine
Expert Paint Correction in Palm Bay, FL
If your paint looks dull in the sun, you’re not imagining it. Swirls, haze, oxidation, and light scratches steal the clarity from your finish and make even a clean vehicle look tired. At Prime Detailing, we correct the paint by leveling out those defects and bringing back the deep gloss your vehicle should have had all along. You’ll see sharper reflections, richer color, and a finish that looks right again.

Paint Correction 101
What Is Paint Correction?
Paint correction is the process we use to remove defects from your clear coat, not cover them up. Instead of hiding swirls with glazes or quick shine products, we polish the paint to refine the surface and restore clarity. That means we can dramatically reduce wash marks, light scratches, water spot etching, oxidation, and the hazy look that shows up under direct light.
We choose a correction level based on what your paint needs and what you expect the finish to look like when we’re done. Some vehicles only need a one-step polish to clean up the paint and brighten the gloss. Others need a two-step approach where we compound first, then refine the finish for a higher level result.

Why Invest in Paint Correction?
Your Paint Looks “New” Again
A lot of people wash their vehicles often, but even after a wash, they often find that the car won’t look new. Usually, that’s because the paint is covered in microscopic defects that scatter light. Once we correct the paint, the gloss comes back, the reflections sharpen up, and the color looks deeper.
Fix the Problem Instead of Hiding It
Sprays and waxes can temporarily improve the look, but they don’t remove the swirls and haze underneath. Paint correction targets the defects in the clear coat, so you aren’t stuck reapplying quick fixes every week. You get a real improvement you can actually see in the sun and under parking lot lights.
You Get Better Results From Protection Afterward
If you plan to add a sealant or coating, paint correction is what makes it look its best. Protection products lock in whatever the paint looks like at the time of application. When we correct the paint first, your sealant performs better visually, and your finish stays cleaner-looking longer because the surface is smoother and more refined.
It’s a Smart Move Before Selling, Trading, or Showing Off
Paint correction helps your vehicle present like it’s been well cared for, which can make a difference in perceived value. Even if you’re not selling, you’ll feel the difference every time you walk up to it. If you care about pride of ownership, this is one of the best upgrades you can make without changing anything about the vehicle itself.
How We Do It
Our Paint Correction Process
1. Inspect the Paint and Set Expectations
We start by looking at the paint under proper lighting so we can see what you’re actually dealing with. We’ll point out the major defects, explain what we can improve, and match you to the right correction level.
2. Deep Clean and Decontaminate
We wash thoroughly, then decontaminate the paint to remove bonded grime and buildup. This step matters because it helps us polish safely and prevents dragging contamination across the surface.
3. Test Spot and Choose the Right Approach
Every vehicle’s paint behaves differently. Before we dive into a full correction, we work on a small test section to dial in the best pad, polish, and technique that delivers the best correction while keeping the finish crisp.
4. Correct the Paint
For our Level 1 package, we focus on a one-step polish to significantly improve clarity and remove a large portion of defects. For Level 2, we compound first to cut deeper defects, then polish to refine gloss and boost reflectivity.
5. Protect the Finish
Once we achieve the correction level you chose, we apply a paint sealant to protect the work and keep the finish looking sharp.
6. Final Inspection
Before you pick up your ride, we inspect the vehicle again under lighting to confirm the results look consistent across panels.

Myths
Busting Paint Correction Myths
Myth: Paint Correction Removes All Scratches
Truth: We can remove a lot of damage, but we can’t promise perfection on every vehicle. Some scratches cut too deeply into the clear coat. We’ll always aim for the best finish possible without taking unnecessary risks with your paint. If a defect is too deep to safely remove, we’ll explain it and improve it as much as we can.
Myth: Any Polish Job Is Paint Correction
Truth: A quick polish can add shine, but paint correction is about measurable improvement and controlled results. We inspect the paint, choose the right method, and correct defects with a clear goal in mind. That’s why a proper correction looks different in the sun than a simple “shine up.”
Myth: You Only Need It on Older Vehicles
Truth: Newer vehicles often need paint correction, too. Dealer washes, improper drying, and everyday driving can add swirls fast, even on a brand-new car. If you want the paint to look right and stay that way, investing in paint correction early can make a huge difference.
Myth: It Doesn’t Last, So It’s Not Worth It
Truth: The results last as long as the paint is cared for. If you keep washing with rough brushes and dirty towels, swirls will come back. If you use safer wash habits and keep a sealant on the paint, your corrected finish stays sharper for a long time. We’ll point you in the right direction so you can keep the look you paid for.
